Alphabet of Polish – G

Alright girlies! I know the posts have been sporadic and for that I apologize. I know it’s not an excuse but this schedule is killing me. Working overnights is hard. Real hard. I have been at least trying to make a post a week and I am definitely keeping up with y’all!! I love all the new posts, colors, and products I’m seeing!

So, I promised I would give you a view of my new hair color that my daughter picked out! I’m in love with it!!!

Arabella did my hair for work yesterday. I was totally stylin’ with that flower! Everyone at work loved it!!

Now on to my “G” polishes. The first one I did, I created around using Julep’s Ginger holographic sand polish that came in a recent Maven Box that was surrounding celebrity women. I fell in love with it and couldn’t wait to use it!! I paired it with a navy called Game On from Victoria’s Secret’s previous polish collection, the ones in the round bottle not the new rectangle ones.

I’m so in love with Ginger!! It is such a nice subtle holo!!! Can’t wait to wear it again!!

The second mani I did was slightly lame… It was close to St. Patrick’s day and I had forgotten that I could use color names and not just polish names for my alphabet!!! I decided on Grey and Green. I used Essence’s Grey-t to be Here and Sinful Colors Call Me Later, I got this one in our Secret Santa at work!

I was totally meh on this. I started with plain grey and Ashtree said it was too boring so I added little swirlies to them! It was fun, I guess.

I’ve got something exciting up my sleeve for “H”!!!! I mean like real exciting!!! You’ll have to come back to see!!!! (Is that a cliffhanger or what?!)

Final December nails

So I did 2 other mani’s that I haven’t had a chance to post. The whole month of December is insane for me. And now because of all the work and lack of sleep I feel like I’m coming down with something. I’ll just ignore it and hopefully it will go away.

On to what you came here for… The nails!!!

So I started with a Layla Holo polish… The silver one. Then I added my Christmas tree on my thumb. I used tape and then my dotting tool to add the star and the ornaments. I tried to do it on all of my nails but it wasn’t working out so I thought I’d try my hand at freehanding a snowflake. It is most definitely not my best work but it was ok.

This next one is what I ended up wearing for the days leading up to Christmas day. It was my second attempt at a jelly sandwich. I used 365 days of colors Mrs. Claus polish that I got in my mystery bag, I love it. Then on my accent nail I used Essie’s Sugar Daddy for my jelly and then I used a glitter polish I got from Claire’s. I think this turned out great!

I have a stamping attempt with one of my new polishes coming up next!!! I love love love this new polish!!!

Hope everyone had a great holiday!!!

Lights, such pretty, shiny lights!

Last time I posted I claimed that I was going to attempt the strand of lights some of you awesome ladies had posted.

I’ll admit it was easier than I thought it was going to be but my left hand still has such trouble working correctly.

I started of with China Glaze White on White. I have figured out that I do NOT like white on my nails. It’s really difficult for me to work with and I don’t really like how it looks. I used a Sinful Colors black striping polish for my strands. Then I use a dotting tool to add my lights. I used Pure Ice Siren for the red, Sinful Colors San Francisco for the green, and I used Avon for the blue and yellow and I can not, unfortunately, remember either of their names off the top of my head.

Here’s what I got..

A little more cleaned up… White, as I said, was just not my friend.

So, I still have my Rudolph nails to post. I did some on my daughter too! Yay! I love them but for some reason the Elf polish I used has cracked… Like a big ole crack right down my Rudolph and on another finger. Also a random chip came off the middle of my thumb nail. Real odd. Real frustrating! So I have to attempt ANOTHER Christmas mani today… We’ll see how that goes. I’m out of ideas!

Santa Claus!!!!

I did a super easy, super cute mani for the holiday. I’m real proud of these! I feel like both my right and my left hand came out fantastic!

I did have to redo the accent nail on my left hand (non-dominate hand) because I didn’t top coat over my red the first time. I made sure I was more patient the second time and only got a tiny bit of streaking of the black onto my beard!

These are all prior to clean up. I did this mani Saturday evening. I have a chip on my left hand Santa Claus. Lame! I swear it’s because I’m not using Seche Vite! But I’m over the shrinkage with that top coat. Just need to find another just as shiny and protectant to make me happy.

I used my China Glaze White on White, Sinful Colors San Francisco is my beautiful green on the rest of my nails, I used an ELF nude color that I got in a set from Target, Pure Ice Siren for the red, and my Sinful Colors black striping polish.

Here’s a picture of it cleaned up before I take it off to attempt a Christmas lights mani!!

I love that I’m getting use out of my dotting tools and that I’m able to create some pretty awesome artwork! Proud nail moment!! 🙂

It’s an obsession… New polish, makeup update, and new hair!!!

Ok, I was out to dinner with the bf last night and didn’t want to go home so afterwards I decided to stop by Walmart. My haul is ridiculous… No seriously!!! It’s insane… Here goes:

I found these awesome double polish Revlon things called Moon Dust… Couldn’t decide on just one… I got 5!!!

Cosmic – a dark gray polish and a yellow toned flake.

Universe – a dark brownish red polish with gold flakes.

Supernova – gray polish with light pink flakes

Satellite – dark red polish with bright pink flakes

Orbit – dark purple polish with purple flakes.

Vegas Strip – Green with gold/yellow glitter, tons of glitter!!!

Strapless – beautiful blue with what looks like silver and blue glitter

Draped – this is a gorgeous bright pink that is part of the Pure Ice Velour collection.

Poker Face – orange with gold and green glitter. Tons of glitter!!

Spitfire – clear base with tons of pink microglitters and holographic hex’s!!!

Armed and Ready – I can’t decide in the bottle if this is an olive green or more of a gray and it has a folder glimmer to it. It’s gorgeous!!

Wrapped in Rubies – a gorgeous dark red with a golden glimmer. So pretty!

I want to try them all RIGHT NOW!!! However, I did this real cute mani just yesterday!! I’m still half-tempted to take it off and put something new on!!!

I guess I need to start swatching…

P.S. I got my first ever makeup case. I cleaned up and counted my pigment eyeshadows…. 82 different ones in total!! Geez! What’s wrong with me?!

P.P.S. I also got my hair cut and colored yesterday! I love love love it!!!!

I had so wanted to get this posted before Halloween was over. However, work got in the way and now it’s going on 5am and I am determined to post my other Halloween mani!!! Besides I haven’t slept so for me, it’s still Halloween!
Somewhere on the interwebs I had seen a mani that was lips and teeth over a black nail, making it look like an open mouth. I loved it. Ashtree tried it while we were hanging but we were not able to get it to work. Our learning experience. I decided to give it a go. It turned out incredible.
I did the mouth on my thumbs, small eyeballs on my pointer, middle and pinkie fingers and a glitter accent nail on my ring finger. The black polish is Orly Liquid Vinyl, the white is China Glaze White on White, the glitter on my ring finger is Orly Right Amount of Evil, the red for the mouth is Stripe Rite, and the green and blue on the eyeballs are 2 stripers I got from the Flower Factory and I can NOT remember the brand, sorry!

The top picture and the individual of the mouth were taken before clean up. I apologize that I didn’t get a close up of the mouth cleaned but the middle picture is after clean up

We were supposed to dress up for Halloween at work today, I applied full makeup and dressed semi-nicely and claimed that I WAS dressed up. I was “put together”!!! I thought it was brilliant costume!
I hope everyone enjoyed their Halloween!!!

My Eyeballlllsssss!

So, I have literally been trying to post my first Halloween nails for DAYS!!!! My country Internet is horrible!!! So, I moved on… No worries I’ll post it this month, at some point!
My daughter had a Halloween party today so these nails worked out perfectly!!
I started out with a white base of White one White from China Glaze. Then I used a green and red striping polishes. And I also used Liquid Vinyl OPI for the pupil.
This was fairly easy. I actually used French tip stickers to help shape the colored part of the eye. I tried free handing it first and while it worked it was much less frustrating to use the tip stickers.
I must say I’m happy with the results!
